Welcome to the twenties world! I was once told that the twenties are the best years to make an account of precious memories of life, dreams and love–doing so in the most vibrant manner possible.

Korea: Jeju part 2
written on Friday, April 11, 2014 @ 11:08 AM ✈
안녕! Jeju part 2 Continuing from the previous post… Rise and shine, all wake and ready for Sunrise! Tried to see sunrise back in Singapore as well, but didn’t seems to have the luck or something- either rainy or overslept lol! Not much cars on the road in the dawn of the night so my friend who was driving was really driving at a speed like there is no tmr, and partly because we are slightly behind the stipulated timing. Some part of the road didn’t even have road lamp after all, Jeju is less of a city and more of a laid back tourist attraction place. Which makes it dangerous to drive at night and since we are heading to the Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak (성산일출봉) (known as sunrise peak as well) with only navigator that we can depend on to give us the direction to drive :( so that is how we managed to encounter a turn-about right in the middle of the road and might even die if there was any other car around. Crashing at the speed of 150km/h is no joke I think, and without a safety belt and sitting right in the middle of the 5-seaters car. (Just need to rant about this again, once; twice also not enough for me I guess.) So we are finally here! Haven’t even recovered from the mountain climbling from the previous day and we got ourselves into one more again! The height of this Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak (성산일출봉) (known as sunrise peak as well) is shorter but is steeper and we have a time constraints since we want to see the SUNRISE!!! It was more tiring for me to reach the top of the mountain/hill for this case as compared to the previous day, maybe cause of the speed and steepness?
OMG we are finally here! Quite a lot of people are here for the sunrise, not just tourists but Koreans as well!
Made it before the sunrise, but lucky or what, it was so cloudy that day so the sun was covered, and we missed the whole process of the rising sun :( what a waste! (well but that didn’t dampened my spirit that day cause I didn’t feel healthier than that before (felt like was on a exercising trip and all those climbing just made me feel so healthy and refreshed, and so determined to exercise when I reached Singapore, which I didn’t in the end. Lol!!) Definitely going back again! I want to see sunrise!!
(all tired and sweaty after reaching the top) (I bought my first box of orange chocolate here as well! But I realised it was so pricey after going to the other attractions, so next time when you are buying something and the boss is so nice to give you samples and extra pieces then you must be careful! Sign of overcharging!) Exact address: 284-12, Ilchul-ro, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do 제주특별자치도 서귀포시 성산읍 일출로 284-12 Wanted to head over to Udo Island which should be a short ferry trip away from the Sunrise Peak but we just couldn’t find the place, but partly because my friend who is driving is disinterested in it ? ( i am not blaming anyone here, since i am the one who didnt get the proper address the previous day:( (I definitely want to go to Udo Island when I am back in Jeju the next time!) After the slightly disappointing sunrise and a failed attempt to go to Udo Island, we are heading to Jeju Folk Village Museum (제주민속촌박물관) but this is different from Jeju Folk Museum so do take note! Cost about 8or is it 9k won to get in? So the 2 of us head down to the beach nearby while waiting for the museum to be opened at opens at 9am (Korean time) (got horse riding !!) This time only me and ZH since the rest thinks that it is too boring and decide to go for Jeju Trick eye museum which is the same concept as the one in Hongdae in Seoul.
Entrance!
(quite pretty i think!)
(just kept trying out things and taking photos at the same time!!) (Spamming photos in progress...) (jeju black pig!) (mini maze inside!) (Entrance of the mini maze) (Bye~ as we enter enter the maze separately.) (setup of the traditional Korean marriage ceremony) (can you see ZH? hahas) blend in very well :)) (washing clothes like what the women did in the past! hahas. LOL!!)
(looks fun and easy to be pounding something but you get tired quite easily!!)
(artificial, small waterfall before we go for the real, big and pretty one!!) (trying to blend in with them. hahas) (wanted to take this to tour around but the waiting interval was too long :() (trying out the korean traditional game, hahas. like a noob sia, kept chasing after the metal ring!)
(Happy kid!)
(entrance of the traditional 'court' or is it the 'police station' ? in the old days)
(official caught in action!) LOL~
(Yang Ban(aristocrats) studying?!) (save us!! :((
Help! Help! 도와주세요!
(there is a mini animal farm as well!)
(well that is all for here!)
Exact address: 631-34, Minsokhaean-ro, Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do 제주특별자치도 서귀포시 표선면 민속해안로 631-34 Met up for lunch and this time is Jeju specialty- Abalone porridge, a store near the museum since the museum is quite near the sea with restaurants around! Maybe was having too high of expectation so when we tried the porridge it didn’t quite hit the right spot, quite normal I guess with a few slices of abalone. The colour wasn’t very appetizing as well. Hahas, not sure was it due to the restaurant or was that the original taste. (one thing that i love among korean restaurant is that there are always alot of side dish available!!) some place even have unlimited kimchi! (my love ^^) Decide to split up Day 2 into 2 separate post cause it was getting way too lengthy alr!! That is all for now! Will be back for more updates. Till I am back again!
